American Bankruptcy Institute Names Stanger to “40 Under 40” List

October 23, 2018

Nyemaster Goode attorney Kristina Stanger was named one of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s 2018 “40 Under 40” Emerging Leaders in the insolvency practice.

The ABI’s annual 40 Under 40 program recognizes insolvency professionals from across the country who are committed to the highest standards of achievement at work and in their communities. The 2018 list of 40 was selected from more than 200 nominees, and Stanger is the only Iowa attorney to have received this recognition.

Stanger is an experienced commercial litigator with a practice focused on creditor rights and bankruptcy. Her litigation experience spans many industries including retail, grocery, real estate, agriculture, health care, construction, transportation, and manufacturing. She appears in both federal and state courts for secured and unsecured creditors in a variety of contexts, including commercial and contract claims, preference actions, business disputes, property damage, construction, and real estate litigation.

In addition to her legal practice, Stanger is a combat-experienced Lieutenant Colonel in the Iowa Army National Guard. She has served as a Commander and planner for state, national and international operations and is now the Chief of Plans and Operations for the Iowa Army National Guard.

Stanger is a graduate of Drake University Law School and earlier this year was named the school’s Recent Alumna of the Year. In August she also received the 2018 Gertrude Rush Award presented by the Iowa Organization of Women Attorneys and the Iowa Chapter of the National Bar Association.
