Q: Why did you decide to practice law?
SS: As a kid, I always imagined myself as either a teacher or a lawyer. Two very different careers that tapped into the largest parts of what makes me, well…, me. The two things that tie those careers together are the impact each have on our local community, and how each allowed me the opportunity to help individuals and families. Ultimately, I loved being a problem solver and felt that I could do all those things as an attorney.
Q: What is one thing about Nyemaster that everyone should know?
SS: The attorneys and staff at Nyemaster really do pride themselves on providing the highest-level advice, product, and representation to their clients while also magically keeping a warm and welcoming working culture; a feat not easily achieved in our fast-paced world.
Q: Why do clients come to you?
SS: I help demystify procedures and tasks that seem complex or are potentially overwhelming in a manner that matches the needs of my clients.
Q: What’s the most important thing you’ve learned since becoming a lawyer?
SS: How much different areas of law all overlap and impact one another.
Q: What are three words your clients would use to describe you?
SS: Thorough, approachable, conscientious.
Q: What do you do for fun?
SS: My husband and I really enjoy traveling.
Q: Where is your favorite vacation destination and why?
SS: Vienna, Austria is one of my favorite vacation destinations as so much history has transpired there, thus one could never be bored. Further, between the gleaming historic architecture, and Viennese citizens viewing it as their public duty to ensure their city is spotless, it makes it very easy to wander the city and imagine it as a place out of one of my favorite books.
Q: Tell us one detail or story most people don’t know about you?
SS: I line dance and spent some time when I was younger teaching line dance lessons.
Q: Tell us about something outside of work that brings you joy?
SS: I love to garden!
Q: How do you unwind/relax?
SS: Reading a good book is how you’ll find me enjoying some alone time.
Q: What are some of the things you enjoy about being involved with in your community?
SS: I really enjoy meeting all of the diverse members of my community and making lifelong friends while helping my community.
Q: What issues are passions for you?
SS: I am passionate about helping the veterans of my community while also supporting local performing arts organizations.
