Summary: Seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a busy and professional practice.
This position provides administrative and legal support in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong drafting, proofreading, and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, revise, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and other materials.
- Maintain electronic and physical client files, ensuring documents are organized and readily accessible.
- Manage attorney calendars, appointments, deadlines, and scheduling needs.
- Assist with drafting routine correspondence and legal documents.
- Coordinate meetings, calls, travel arrangements, and communications with clients and third parties.
- Process, organize, and route incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Assist with document management, filing, and records maintenance.
- Support attorneys with matter management, including tracking deadlines and follow-up tasks.
- Assist with court filings, legal calendaring, and document management functions as needed.
- Provide exceptional client service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Perform other administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Three or more years of legal assistant, legal secretary, or legal administrative experience preferred. An Associate's degree and strong administrative experience will also be considered.
- Excellent drafting, proofreading, grammar, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting attorneys in litigation, real estate, lending, or other legal practice areas.
This is a full-time, on-site position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. We offer the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys in a collaborative and professional environment.
