Nyemaster Achieves Two Favorable Iowa Supreme Court Decisions

Attorneys from Nyemaster Goode represented clients in two favorable Iowa Supreme Court decisions announced on June 25, 2021.

 

  • Randy Armentrout and Ben Roach were successful in arguing for the Court to affirm a district court’s decision enforcing commercial equipment financing agreements. Read the Court’s opinion in PSFS 3 Corporation v. Seidman here.

 

  • Randy Armentrout and Leslie Behaunek convinced the Court to overturn a jury’s verdict in favor of an injured employee (back) for alleged disability discrimination because the former employee did not establish there was another job he could perform with the employer based on his lifting restriction.  The Court ordered a new trial on the employee’s claims related to requesting a sign language interpreter.
