Nyemaster Goode Admits Seven as Shareholders

Nyemaster Goode, P.C. today announced that seven associate attorneys have been admitted to the firm as shareholders. Leslie Behaunek, Spencer Cady, Thomas Goodhue, Colleen MacRae, Dustin Miller, Rebecca Miller, and Ryan Stefani became shareholders effective January 1, 2020.

 

 

Leslie Behaunek is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department with an emphasis on business and commercial litigation, employment law, insurance defense, and appellate advocacy.  Before joining the firm, Leslie served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Jane Kelly, United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the Honorable James E. Gritzner, United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa.

 

 

Spencer Cady is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and maintains a general litigation practice with a primary focus on business and commercial disputes, construction litigation, products liability, and appellate practice.  Prior to joining the firm, Spencer served for two years as a judicial clerk to the Honorable James E. Gritzner, of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa.

 

 

Thomas Goodhue is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department where he litigates business and estate disputes, and represents clients in administrative proceedings before the Iowa Utilities Board and other agencies. Tom previously practiced in Washington, D.C. for 10 years with an international law firm and as a trial attorney with the Federal Trade Commission.

 

 

Colleen MacRae practices with the firm’s Business, Finance & Real Estate team. Colleen represents clients in the negotiation and closing of mergers, asset purchases, and stock purchases and provides advice to businesses regarding formation, organization, and restructuring. Colleen assists clients with commercial real estate transactions, including landlords and tenants in office, retail, and industrial leasing transactions.  She also provides counseling to clients on issues relating to zoning, permitting, land use, and environmental regulatory compliance.

 

 

Dustin Miller is a member of the firm’s Government Affairs Department. As legislative counsel, Dustin primarily represents Iowa-based associations as a lobbyist before the Iowa Legislature and administrative agencies of the State of Iowa. His work involves a wide range of public policy issues including water quality, environmental issues, economic development, taxation, public finance, and utilities. He also serves as Executive Director of the Iowa Chamber Alliance.

 

 

Rebecca Miller is a member of the firm’s Tax, Estate Planning & Employee Benefits Department.  Rebecca’s practice includes assisting clients with estate planning, trust and estate administration, and tax issues.  Before joining Nyemaster Goode, Rebecca was a partner in an Algona, Iowa, law firm.

 

 

Ryan Stefani is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and maintains an active practice in both intellectual property and labor and employment matters.  Ryan helps clients protect their intellectual property through patent and trademark litigation, and has helped obtain dozens of consent judgments against patent- and trademark-infringing defendants. He also works with clients facing discrimination claims by current employees, former employees, and job applicants.
