Nyemaster Goode Admits Three as Shareholders

Nyemaster Goode, P.C., today announced that three associate attorneys have been admitted to the firm as shareholders. Eric N. Fischer, Mary Katherine Nelson and Eric R. Tubbs became shareholders effective January 1, 2022.

 

 

Eric Fischer is a member of the firm’s Business, Finance and Real Estate Department. His practice focuses on merger and acquisition transactions, commercial contracting matters, and financing transactions. He represents buyers and sellers in M&A transactions, advises companies on general corporate matters, including corporate governance, financing issues, restructurings, and ongoing strategic, transactional and regulatory matters. Eric also advises health care clients on regulatory issues including HIPAA, Stark Law, and Anti-Kickback. He is a past chair of the Young Advisory Council of UnityPoint Health, Des Moines, served as a member of the board for Downtown Community Alliance and was chair of Impact Downtown’s Young Professional Connection Board. He is named to The Best Lawyers in America®: Ones to Watch 2022 list in the areas of business organizations and corporate law, and to SuperLawyers 2021 Great Plains Rising Stars.

 

 


Mary Katherine Nelson
, a member of the Business, Finance and Real Estate Department, has a practice concentrated in the areas of commercial real estate finance and general commercial real estate and business transactions. She represents lenders and borrowers in negotiating, documenting, and closing loans secured by commercial property. Mary Katherine works primarily with insurance company and banking clients, drafting and negotiating loan documents and completing due diligence. Mary Katherine also regularly assists clients in real estate acquisitions/sales, development projects, and commercial leasing matters. A Kentucky native, she is an active member of the board of directors of Goodwill Industries of Central Iowa and CREW Iowa (Commercial Real Estate Women). Mary Katherine is included in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business; The Best Lawyers in America®: Ones to Watch 2022 in corporate law; and SuperLawyers 2021 Great Plains Rising Stars.

 

 


Eric Tubbs
, also a member of the Business, Finance and Real Estate Department, specializes in a broad range of corporate transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, commercial contracts, securities issuances and compliance, as well as other corporate governance matters. He has experience in a broad range of legal areas that apply across industries and to both large and small businesses. A member of the board of Polk County Early Childhood Iowa, Eric practiced with a global 50 law firm before returning to Iowa and joining Nyemaster Goode in 2018.
