Nyemaster Goode Remembers LeRoy Voigts, 1927-2017

LeRoy R. "Red" Voigts passed away peacefully on April 20, 2017. Born on the family farm in rural Greene he attended Wartburg College. Charming and dedicated, "Red" taught high school history and served in in the Navy. After graduating from Drake Law School he joined Nyemaster Goode where he mentored, practiced, and set precedents for nearly 50 years.

A classic trial lawyer, Roy received just about every award, honor, and accolade the legal profession can bestow upon its most elite members.  Devoted to his family and his community, he was an inspirational leader and volunteer to legal, business, and Lutheran causes.

Happily married for 65 years to Darlene Muehling, they were the loving parents of Doug, Jane, Nancy and son-in-law Henry, as well as the joyful grandparents of Lucy and Gaby.
Red led the type of vibrant, caring, and meaningful life we all aspire to. He will be missed by friends, family, and his faithful colleagues at Nyemaster.
