Nyemaster Goode Sponsors 2019 Law Day

Nyemaster Goode attorneys Stephanie Marett and Bill Boyd helped the Polk County Bar Association  (PCBA) celebrate Law Day by sponsoring two students at the annual Law Day Awards Ceremony on May 1. Marett also serves as co-chair of the PCBA’s Law Day Committee.

Each year the American Bar Association and the PCBA recognize Law Day to help foster education and a deeper understanding of the legal system. The theme of the 2019 Law Day was “Free Speech, Free Press, Free Society.”  Students from elementary through high school were encouraged to express, through poetry, essay, visual art, technology or music and performing arts, the impact of free speech and free press.

Winners were honored during Law Day’s celebration luncheon. Featured speakers at the luncheon included Justice Susan Christensen of the Iowa Supreme Court, Eric Hanson of KCCI Des Moines, Courtney Crowder of the Des Moines Register and Laura Belin of the Bleeding Heartland Blog.
