Paula Dierenfeld Serves on National Governors Association Summer Meeting Host Committee

July 19, 2016

Paula Dierenfeld, an attorney in the firm’s Government Affairs practice, recently served on the host committee for the 2016 National Governors Association (NGA) Summer Meeting.

Nearly two-thirds of the nation’s governors attended the event held in Des Moines from July 14 to July 17. Iowa Governor Terry Branstad appointed Dierenfeld to the host committee which oversaw the planning of the event.

Dierenfeld and her fellow committee members (Jay Byers, CEO of the Des Moines Partnership and Doug Hoelscher, director of the Iowa Office of State-Federal Relations in Washington, DC) spent the last year and a half working with the NGA and LS2 (a local public relations firm) planning and preparing for the meeting—which, by all accounts, was a huge success. The meeting not only provided a great opportunity for governors to discuss and share best practices on issues like cybersecurity and the opioid crisis, but it also provided Iowa with an opportunity to showcase all of its wonderful attractions and experiences.
